View along the Grand Union Canal from Brentford Bridge

Grand Union Canal with a few moored barges

A view from the southern side of Brentford Bridge looking along the Grand Union Canal (formerly the Grand Junction Canal).

In the middle distance the point where the railway crossed the canal is visible (the sign on the retaining wall is for Brentside Engineering Works Ltd) and beyond the canal curves to the left around The Ham.

Thanks to Dave Stoneleigh who provided this photograph, taken on June 28th 2008 during the Brentford Festival weekend.
