Brentford Families - Baldry

Gaye Wheeler wrote in August 2011:

My family John and Ellen Baldry were Fishmongers in the High Street for several years, though until 1901 were not noted on your website. (Since corrected!)

I have taken my info from census records:

  • Census 1881 33 High Street John and Ellen Baldry Fishmongers
  • Census 1891 33 High Street John, Ellen Baldry with son Albert Fishmongers
  • Census 1901 178 High Street Ellen Baldry with son Albert Fishmongers
  • Trade Dir 1907 178 High Street Ellen Baldry Fishmonger

Unfortunately I do not know the year they moved to 33 High Street. It had to be between 1871 and 1881 as in the earlier date they were noted as living in Charlton St as Fishmongers. (Trade directories for 1874 and 1878 do not include John Baldry, so presumably he moved to Brentford after 1878).
