Mark Abbott sent photos of his great grandfather, William Jenkin Cloves his wife Sarah Anne (nee Kirsch) who lived at 396 High Street. He believes they were taken in the early 1900s.

William Jenkin Cloves was recorded in trade directories for 1907, 1911 and 1913 at 396 High Street. The 1901 census shows he was 51 and born in Rainham, Essex; he had eight children. He was a barge builder and had lived in Rotherhithe, Battersea & Deptford before settling in Brentford in the late 1890s (his youngest daughter was 2 and the only child born in Brentford).

Mark seeks a photo of no. 396 before it disappeared in the 1920s as part of the extension to the Gas Light & Coke Company. Please email if you can help.
