Photo showing number 312a High Street Brentford in the 1930s

Archway through to a yard with a 2-storey property built over the archway

Caroline Hill wrote 'Thought you might like a photograph of 312a High Street, where my Great Grandparents George and Kate Harrison lived. I know (from my family history research) that they were there in 1907 and 1937. My father recalls going to visit his grandparents in this property and was told not to jump or run around in it as it was unstable! I believe that George Harrison is the man in the window.'

'I would guess that the photo was taken in the 1930’s as I believe the man standing on the pavement was one of George and Kate’s sons.'

The details of the property over the archway are included in the 1909/10 Valuation as part of number 313.

Harry Dear, cycle dealer is recorded at no. 312 in 1928 and 1933 trade directories. The shop sign says 'Cab Proprietors' and 'Repairers'.
