Rattenburys, 1960s

Semi-detached properties, 3 storey with large bow windows to ground floor

Keith Davis has provided this 1960s colour photo showing Rattenburys well-known shop frontage at 288/289 High Street.

Rattenburys features in several people's memories; no. 289 was used by pawnbrokers continuously from 1839 (possibly earlier). More about numbers 288/289.

Rattenburys closed in January 1968 and the facade is held in the Museum of London (Q34).
