Not Brentford

Brentford Redevelopment, April 2021

The south side of New Brentford is being redeveloped by Ballymore and areas of Old Brentford too, over coming years. Janet McNamara is keeping a photographic record, these were taken on 13th April 2021 and show St Lawrence's church, looking towards the High Street. There is a postcard view from over 100 years ago, taken from a similar position to the second photo - see link below.

Janet adds there are hoardings around the site as the process of exhuming the 'new' burial ground commences. Phase I covers the 'new' 1884-1973 burial ground with around 918 burials.

Discussions are ongoing regarding the 'old' burials ground (Phase II) and St Lawrence Church (Phase III).

Ballymore's November 2021 newsletter: Sensitive exhumation works in Plot A were completed alongside the reinternment at Brookwood Cemetery (Woking, Surrey).
