Robert Gent, Clements Knowling, 1932

Hugh Hughes has sent this photo taken outside Clements Knowling office, Ferry Lane, Brentford: he believes it shows his wife's grandfather, Robert Gent, who lived on Braemar Road. He adds 'Robert worked at Clement Knowing but what he did there I do not know but part of the family were Lighter men on the river. As for the family Robert was married to Ellen and they had 5 Children Samuel , Gladys , Robert , Stan ( Last time I heard from him he was a Painter & Decorator in Hanwell ) and Reginald who had a Daughter Jennifer'.

There is another photo of the same event - possibly the Empire Day parade - provided by Simon Hollway.
