Frank Davis's Funeral Procession 1948

View of funeral cars, three with floral tributes, accompanied by 6 men from the Fire Station in uniform

The area of the High Street behind the procession is the stretch up to no. 276, which is where Frank Davis ran his building business in 1928.

Note the Central Garage at no. 274 & 275, the site of the Coronet Cinema, the facade is visible.

To the left of the garage are numbers 273 and 273a: these were originally one building, the Kings Arms PH. No. 273a was the receiving office for a laundry in 1933 and 1940 trade directories. It is possible to make out the name 'Pier House Laundry' in the photo.
