Frank Davis's Funeral Salute 1948

Numbers 284 - 290 are visible. No. 286 was a chemists: run by Henry Argles Woodfield in 1928, 1933 and 1940.

No. 288 (with the awning) and 289 were Rattenburys: the pawnbrokers sign is visible. The Hovis sign is outside no. 290, which was a long standing bakers. In 1940 is was run by Edwin Simmons.

There is an access between numbers 283 and 284 visible in the photo: up until the 1871 census this was Watson's Court or Watson's Alley - up to 5 households lived here.
