West Brentford War Memorial 1914-1919 Following Restoration

Memorial pre-unveiling In 2008/9 Julia Quilliam led a project to restore the West Brentford War Memorial, which until July 2009 stood outside St Lawrence's church facing the High Street.

Following completion of the restoration, the memorial was resited with other war memorials outside Brentford Library, Clifden Road.

Trevor Mitchell has provided photos taken on the day of the Re-dedication Ceremony on Saturday 19th September 2009, before and after the unveiling.

The photos at the foot of the memorial show four of the men commemorated; from the left:

  • Edgar Harold Holmes Turner
  • Alfred George Clifford Pearce
  • Another of Edgar Harold Holmes Turner
  • Thomas Johnson
