Not Brentford

Brentford Redevelopment, July 2023

The south side of New Brentford is being redeveloped and Janet McNamara is keeping a photographic record. These four photos were taken by Jennie Shaw, whilst Janet was temporarily without a camera. They show progress at Workhouse Dock where the shuttering on to the canal has been removed and the water let in on July 20th 2023.

The first photo, left to right, shows blocks Brunel (Hollandbury House, Block K on the plans), Oak (Calville House, Block B)and Willow (Lewis House, Block C) with Workhouse Dock in the foreground.

The next three views I think are from Grand Union Canal Walk looking down river, east of Workhouse Dock.

Workhouse Dock is not a new naming, the OS map from a survey of 1893 shows Bradshaw's Yard and Warehouse running down to Workhouse Dock.
